About Our Electric Window Blinds

Controlling light and privacy in your home shouldn’t be a daily chore, especially when it comes to awkward or hard-to-reach windows. Our electric window blinds solve this problem with battery-powered convenience that puts you in control from anywhere in the room.

Whether you’re dealing with tall windows, skylights, windows above kitchen sinks, or simply want the luxury of automated control, these blinds deliver effortless operation with just a press of the remote. The free-hanging cellular design means no side tracks to interrupt your window frames, giving you a contemporary, streamlined appearance that suits any interior style.

Beyond convenience, these blinds work hard to improve your home’s comfort and efficiency. The innovative honeycomb structure creates air pockets that provide natural insulation, helping to stabilise room temperatures year-round and potentially reduce your energy costs.

With your choice of light-filtering fabrics for gentle, diffused daylight or blackout options for rooms where darkness matters, you can customise each window to suit its purpose.

Please note that due to the track-free design, minimal light seepage may occur at the fabric edges with blackout options, a small trade-off for the sleek, unobtrusive aesthetic and hassle-free installation these blinds provide. For total blackout, you may want to check out our blind screen option.

Fabric Types

Our cellular fabrics come in two fabric types: blackout and light filtering / translucent. The blackout option creates a much darker effect, excellent if you have a TV in the room or you want to have the option for a darker room, creating a much cooler temperature.

The light filtering / translucent option is great if you want to close the blind to keep the room nice and cool and to take the glare away from the sun, but still allow some light in to the room.

Both fabric types have excellent thermal properties. The nature of the fabric means that the layer of air that is naturally trapped in between the cells of the fabric reduces thermal transfer,  keeping the room cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.

Power & Control Options

Each electric window blind is powered by a rechargeable lithium battery neatly concealed within the headrail, keeping your windows free from trailing cables and plug sockets. A single charge typically lasts for several months, depending on how frequently you adjust your blinds, and recharging is straightforward by simply connecting the charging cable when the battery runs low.

Operating your blinds couldn’t be simpler with the included remote control. Raise, lower, or stop at any position with a single button press, all from the comfort of your sofa, bed, or desk.

The remote works from across the room, making it particularly valuable for windows that are difficult to reach. If you have multiple windows, you can program several blinds to operate together as a group, or maintain individual control over each one, the choice is yours.

With no mains wiring required, installation is quick and straightforward. There’s no need for an electrician, no chasing cables into walls, and no expensive modifications to your home, just modern, wireless convenience that anyone can fit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some FAQs we get asked about our bifold and patio door blinds:

Why choose electric blinds for windows? Electric window blinds are ideal for any situation where manual operation is inconvenient—high windows, skylights, hard-to-reach locations, or simply when you want the ease of remote control. They’re perfect for elderly users, those with mobility issues, or anyone who values convenience and modern living. Plus, with no dangling cords, they’re a safer option for homes with young children.

Can one remote control multiple window blinds? Yes, you can program multiple blinds to respond to a single remote, allowing you to control all the blinds in a room simultaneously. This is especially useful for rooms with several windows where you want coordinated light control. Individual operation is also possible if you prefer different settings for each window.

What window sizes can you accommodate? Our electric window blinds are made-to-measure and available in widths from 600mm to 2000mm and heights from 1000mm to 2400mm. This range covers most standard and larger window openings, from small bathroom windows to full-height glazing.

Will I see any wiring or cables? No visible wiring is required. The battery is housed inside the headrail and the blinds operate wirelessly via remote control, giving you a completely clean, cable-free installation with no power sockets needed nearby.

How noisy are electric window blinds? They operate very quietly with just a gentle, soft hum. The sound is minimal and unobtrusive, perfect for bedrooms, studies, or any room where you want a peaceful environment. Most users find the sound barely noticeable during normal use.

Are these blinds difficult to install myself? Not at all. With basic DIY skills and the detailed instructions provided, most people can install these blinds themselves in under an hour per window. This saves you the cost of professional installation fees. However, we also offer a professional measure and install service if you’d prefer expert fitting.

How often do I need to charge the battery? Battery life varies with usage, but most users find they need to recharge every 3-6 months. When charging is needed, simply plug in the provided cable, it’s quick and doesn’t require removing the blind from the window.

Can I get fabric samples before ordering? Yes, we’re happy to send free fabric samples so you can see the colours and textures in your own home and against your existing décor before making your final choice.

What maintenance do electric window blinds require? Very little. The motorised operation actually reduces wear compared to manual blinds. For cleaning, occasional light dusting or vacuuming with a soft brush attachment is all that’s needed. The battery requires periodic recharging, but otherwise these blinds are designed to be maintenance-free for years.

Do blackout blinds block all light? Our blackout fabric significantly reduces light, making rooms much darker. However, because the fabric hangs freely without side tracks, some minimal light may appear at the edges. This is a characteristic of the free-hanging design that allows for the sleek, track-free aesthetic.

Can I still adjust the blinds manually if needed? While the blinds are designed for remote operation, they can be carefully adjusted by hand if necessary. However, for optimal performance and motor longevity, we recommend using the remote control for all adjustments.

Are electric blinds suitable for bathrooms or humid rooms? Yes, our electric blinds can be used in most rooms including bathrooms and kitchens. However, we recommend ensuring adequate ventilation in high-humidity areas to maintain the longevity of the fabric and components.

What if I have unusual or non-standard window shapes? Our made-to-measure service can accommodate most window sizes within our dimension range. For unusual shapes or particularly large windows, please contact us to discuss your specific requirements and we’ll advise on the best solution.
