It's our aim to make our blinds easy to fit for even the most novice DIY enthusiast. Our blinds come with step-by-step instructions and further guidance is only a telephone call away. The frame has pre-drilled holes to ease the fixing of the lantern to a recess.
Ensure the blind frame is level, screw the frame to the recess, clip the blinds to each end, connect the battery and away you go. It really is that simple! The motor is programmed to stop automatically but can also be stopped at any time during opening and closing.
We strongly advise having two people to install our product, and should take no more than an hour to fit.
Most importantly measure twice, cut once. It cannot be emphasised enough how important it is to take accurate measurements. Please do not make a costly mistake. Alteration with delivery can be costly.
Yes, we provide step-by-step fitting and equipment instructions and telephone assistance is always available.
Yes, our motorised lantern blinds do come with wires. These are almost invisible clear cables running the length of the blind. On a 2m width there would be 10 cables on display. There are three tucked into both sides with the other four covering the remainder of the width.
Within a day of having these blinds up you won't even notice them. The desirable alternative without cables can cost at least double if not four times the amount we charge.
Check out the following picture showing the discreet cables:
The battery in the wall switch and/or remote control should last approximately 3 years if used twice daily.
An outside recess fit would mean the blind was fitted across the ceiling covering the void created by the lantern. An inside recess fit blind would be fitted within the recess of the lantern directly underneath the lantern upstand.

We recommend using 2 people to measure the blind. When fitting the blind approx. an inch underneath the lantern upstand within the recess. Measure both widths at either end and also in the middle (to ensure no large variation). Then measure both lengths. Please provide measurements in millimetres. If there is a large variation please contact us to discuss. It's important that the recess is level and square.
It happens, the blind is delivered, you suddenly realise your error, begin panicking and wonder what can be done. There is some good news. Most errors can be sent back for alteration. However, this will be at the client's expense which could be up to approx. £250 depending on current delivery costs.
We appreciate it's difficult to decide online. In practice almost everyone orders either the translucent or blackout in white. However, if you do want a different colour, we offer a samples pack with various colours which costs £5 including VAT and delivery.
You can order samples here.
Yes. We supply a battery powered wall switch that can control your motorised blind. The wall switch can be mounted on a wall with no wiring required. However, trying to save you expense, when the remote control comes with a wall hook, we wouldn’t personally bother as it pretty much provides the same service.
Yes we do, but we also emphasise that our blinds are easy to install by anyone that is used to DIY jobs. We also advise that you can easily source a local handyman from checkatrade or from local social media groups. If you would prefer us do provide this service then you can check out our dedicated page here.
Unfortunately, we don’t offer this service. We can supply a sample pack for a small cost of £5. However, it's our experience that 9 times out of 10, people always end up with white to blend in with their ceilings.
The smallest is a L 1000mm x W 1000mm. The largest size is L 4000mm x W 3000mm. We can provide any variation between these sizes. For an accurate price, please refer to our price list for the cost closest to your required size, there are no hidden costs. For any queries, please contact us and we will endeavour to answer you the same day.
The duration between battery charges will depend on the size of the blind and the number of times it is operated. As an example, a 4m x 1.6m with a rechargeable battery operated a couple times a day should last at least a couple of months before a charge is required. We strongly recommend this option for ease of installation. We are certain you won't be disappointed.
No. The Somfy RTS control uses radio signals, which means it won't interfere and you don’t even have to point the remote handset at the blind in order to use it. (like we said, it pretty much acts as a wall switch)
From point of sale to delivery to your doorstep we aim for a turnaround of 3 to 5 weeks.
Nothing, its included in the price to the UK
The thermal blackout, which we recommend offer brilliant thermal properties. No more draught keeping you cold in the winter and no more heat and glare making the room unbearable at points during the summer.
The blackout offers excellent thermal properties. The translucent material does offer a degree of thermal properties but is not quite as effective as the blackout. The translucent will still minimise draughts but the blackout is superior in this category.
Translucent still allows light without glare through the fabric. Perfect of you want to keep the room feeling light. The blackout really does keep out all light making the room pitch black. Perfect if you want to enjoy a movie during the day or completely escape the outside world.
