About Our Electric Blinds For Bifold & Patio Doors

Our electric blinds offer an elegant, modern solution specifically designed for bifold and patio door systems. Suspended from a discreet top headrail, the cellular fabric hangs freely without side tracks, creating a clean, minimalist aesthetic that doesn’t interfere with your views or door operation.

Powered by a rechargeable battery and controlled via remote, managing light and privacy across wide openings becomes effortless. The soft, quiet operation creates a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for living spaces where you want to relax and unwind while enjoying wireless, cable-free convenience.

The innovative free-hanging design means the insulating honeycomb fabric extends smoothly under its own weight, providing excellent temperature regulation throughout the year. This helps keep rooms cooler in summer and warmer in winter, reducing energy costs while maintaining comfort.

Available in both light-filtering and blackout options, these blinds give you flexibility in controlling natural light—though please note that even with blackout fabric, some minimal light seepage may occur at the sides due to the track-free design.

It’s this same design feature, however, that makes them ideal for the unique shape and movement of bifold and patio doors, where traditional tracked blinds simply can’t compete.

Our Blinds in Action

Here’s some pictures and a video of our electric blinds for bifold and patio doors:

Fabric Types

Our cellular fabrics come in two fabric types: blackout and light filtering / translucent. The blackout option creates a much darker effect, excellent if you have a TV in the room or you want to have the option for a darker room, creating a much cooler temperature.

The light filtering / translucent option is great if you want to close the blind to keep the room nice and cool and to take the glare away from the sun, but still allow some light in to the room.

Both fabric types have excellent thermal properties. The nature of the fabric means that the layer of air that is naturally trapped in between the cells of the fabric reduces thermal transfer,  keeping the room cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.

Power & Control Options

Our electric blinds are powered by a rechargeable lithium battery discreetly housed within the headrail, eliminating the need for any visible wiring or electrical modifications to your home. Depending on usage, a single charge can last several months, and recharging is simple, just connect the charging cable when needed.

The remote operates from anywhere in the room, making it ideal for large openings, high windows, or any situation where manual operation would be inconvenient.

Multiple blinds can be controlled individually or grouped together for synchronised operation across an entire room or door system.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some FAQs we get asked about our bifold and patio door blinds:

What are the advantages of electric blinds? Electric blinds offer effortless control at the touch of a button, making them ideal for hard-to-reach windows, large openings, or when you simply want convenience. The battery-powered system means no visible wiring, easy installation, and the ability to control multiple blinds simultaneously. They’re perfect for bifold and patio doors where manual operation can be cumbersome across wide spans.

If you have more than one blind, do you have to control them separately? No, multiple blinds can be programmed to work together from a single remote, allowing you to control all your blinds in a room or across an entire door system in perfect synchronization. You also have the option to control them individually if preferred.

What sizes do the blinds come in? Our electric blinds are made-to-measure and available in widths from 600mm to 2000mm and heights from 1000mm to 2400mm, ensuring a perfect fit for your specific bifold doors, patio doors, or windows. Custom sizes can accommodate both standard and non-standard openings.

Are the cables on electric blinds visible? No, the battery-powered system eliminates the need for visible power cables. The rechargeable battery is discreetly housed within the headrail, giving you a clean, wireless installation with no unsightly wires running down your walls or doorframes.

Are electric blinds noisy? Our blinds operate very quietly with a soft, gentle hum that’s barely noticeable. The efficient motor raises and lowers the lightweight honeycomb fabric smoothly and peacefully, making them perfect for bedrooms, living spaces, and quiet environments. Any sound is minimal and easily masked by normal ambient room noise.

Can I self-fit these blinds? Absolutely! Installing our electric blinds is straightforward with basic DIY tools and the detailed step-by-step instructions provided. Self-installation saves you money on professional fitting fees and allows you to complete the work at your convenience. However, if you’d prefer a completely hands-off approach, we also offer a professional measure and install service—something you won’t find with most other providers.

How long does the battery last and how do I charge it? Battery life depends on usage, but typically lasts several months on a single charge. When the battery needs recharging, simply connect the provided charging cable to the headrail—it’s quick and easy, with no need to remove the blind or disrupt your installation.

Can you send samples of the different colours available? Yes, we’re happy to send fabric samples so you can see and feel the quality and colour options in your own home before making a decision. This helps ensure you choose the perfect shade to complement your interior.

What are the maintenance requirements for electric blinds? Electric blinds are very low-maintenance. The motorised operation means less wear and tear compared to manual blinds. For cleaning, simply dust lightly from time to time or use a vacuum with a soft brush attachment. The battery will need occasional recharging, but otherwise, these blinds are designed for years of trouble-free use.

Can bifold door blinds be used on doors with glass panels of different sizes? Yes, our made-to-measure blinds can be tailored to fit each individual glass panel, even if they vary in size within the same door system. This versatility makes them an excellent solution for non-standard or asymmetric bifold and patio door configurations.

Do the blinds provide complete blackout? Our blinds are available in both light-filtering and blackout fabric options. However, due to the free-hanging design without side tracks, some minimal light seepage may occur at the edges even with blackout fabric. This is a characteristic of the track-free system that allows the blinds to work seamlessly with opening doors.

Can the blinds be operated manually if needed? While these blinds are designed for electric operation, they can be gently adjusted by hand if necessary. However, we recommend using the remote control for smooth, consistent operation and to preserve the motor’s longevity.
